What is your biggest struggle right now ?

I am a reluctant entrepreneur- a person who was driven by a mission to start a business for the sake of making the world a better place. And because this is so far out of my comfort zone, it’s a daily struggle to fight the imposter syndrome of what I’m doing. I have to remind myself all the time that I am qualified enough to do this job and that my voice in this world matters.

What and who inspires you the most?

It sounds cliche, but it’s my children. They are a huge reason behind why I took this leap- so that I can show them how to live without letting the fear of failure hold you back. My daughter is naturally fearless. My son is more like me- naturally afraid of failure/ disappointing others. So the ultimate gift I can give to them is to just go for it.

Worst and Best Memory?

Worst: Listening to Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate hearing and sobbing along with millions of other women who could so strongly identify with the #metoo movement.
Best: Every time I hear my children’s laughter- they let out the biggest belly laughs watching the Home Alone movies, and it warms my heart every time.

What advice will you give?

Do the best you can and then be gentle with yourself. Some days you’ll do better than others. That’s ok. Listen to what your body is telling you. You’ll figure it out.

How would you like to introduce yourself?

Daisy Chen Hutton (she/hers) is an Asian American founder of The Fixx Collective, an Anti Bland Sustainability Brand. She’s a mother, an aspiring golfer, and is always down for karaoke and a good dance party.
