This summer ended with a loss for our OSAY family.
Moncef passed away after a short illness. He was part of our atelier for years, a man of few words, the kind whose hands said everything his voice did not. He learned this trade young, from someone close to him, as a way to make a living and stay off the streets. He gave the rest of his life to it. He is the second member of our small team we have lost in a year.
His skill was something of the gods. His soul is in everything we made together.
At OSAY, we speak often about heritage and Mediterranean craftsmanship. But heritage is not an object. It lives in people, in hands that have spent years understanding a skill that cannot be written down or taught from a manual. Moncef carried that knowledge. And when those people disappear, something disappears with them.
We are heartbroken, and we are grateful.
Allah yarhamek, Moncef.
