An update, after some silence. We took a little An update, after some silence. We took a little step back from OSAY. The truth: we were burned out, personally and professionally. We questioned our strategy, our communication, fought cash flow, and had more ideas than resources. And life changed. One of us is in New York, the other in Mexico, and not being side by side was harder than we expected. We feed off each other’s energy. So we paused. But the pause reminded us of something very simple: we still care, so deeply. About the artisans. The shoes. The community. The stories. And everything we still want to build. We’re still here. Still building. And now we want to show you what it really takes, the beautiful and the hard. In just over a year, we lost two cherished members In just over a year, we lost two cherished members of our atelier. It made us think deeply about what it really means to preserve heritage. Because heritage lives in people. In their hands. In their knowledge. In skills learned over decades and passed from one generation to the next. And when an artisan is gone, the question isn’t only what we have lost. It is who will carry it forward? We can preserve objects. We can celebrate traditional crafts. We can document techniques and tell their stories. But if we don’t inspire and attract the next generation to learn these skills, the chain eventually breaks. Heritage isn’t something we can simply preserve. It has to be passed on. It needs to be lived, valued, worn and made relevant enough for the next generation to choose it. #osay #ourstoriesareyours #artisans #heritage
